Cosmic Sea Home Quarter

Tina made this happy version of our Highway 10 Designs Home Quarter pattern.  It is a Fat Quarter friendly pattern and a favorite "Make again" pattern for many quilters.

Tina used the Cosmic Sea fabric collection from Calli and Co for Cotton and Steel.

To keep with the water theme Tina chose the Ripples pantograph and I do think it was the perfect finishing touch.

And I will flood you with more pictures as I just couldn't choose what I liked best.  Home Quarter is available in paper format or as a PDF download from the Highway 10 Designs website.

Trending

This fun quilt was made by Reneta.  The pattern is called Trending from Art East Quilting Co. and was originally a mystery sew along.

Reneta chose a lovely denim blue background fabric from the Northcott Canvas line and selected the rest of the fabrics from her stash.

The Love Those Curls pantograph provides a lovely light finish that doesn't take away from all the amazing animals blocks.

Nobody Puts Baby in the Corner

Reneta made this cozy quilt using a selection of Mammoth Flannels.  The pattern is from Fabriculous and is called "Don't Put Baby in the Corner."

Reneta decided on the perennial favorite - Gingersnap for the pantograph.   I sometimes worry that this pantograph might be overdone in my studio, but everyone seems to like it and it looks great on a wide variety of quilts.

Hopscotch

Dawn made the fabulous Hopscotch for her niece.  I love the vibrant colour palette.

Dawn chose the Lilac pantograph and requested a vibrant purple thread.  This is just a wonderful fun and bold quilt.

Blue Onion

This bold batik quilt was made by Dawn.  The pattern is called Blue Onion by Saginaw Street Quilts.

This quilt is destined to be a wedding gift so Dawn selected the Pieces of My Heart pantograph.  It is a little hard to see against the batik prints on the front, but has a nice flow and show up more clearly on the plainer back.

Improv Baby Stars

This quilt was made by my friend and first time grandma Dawn for her granddaughter.  Dawn is fun and bold with her quilting and this quilt totally is her style.

I love all the fun and ecclectic prints she included.   The Fanciful Fliers pantograph seemed to play into the whimsy of the quilt perfectly.

Riding Mountain Memories

Myrna made this wonderful quilt that features printed photos of her hometown of Riding Mountain, Manitoba.  On the body of the quilt I used my freehand topographic quilting design to add a nice texture.

I did minimal quilting on the 4 photos.  I stitched in the ditch around the blocks and followed the outlined of the main elements in each of the photos.

Myrna also provided this pieced backing with a couple of panels and more coordinating fabrics that she used on the front.

Dance

This wonderful quilt was made by Myrna.  The pattern is called Dance and is from local pattern designer Melissa Marginet.  Myrna wanted more of a rectangle shaped quilt than a square so she added borders to the top and bottom only.  I think a lot of quilters might hesitate to do this fearing it might not look right, but as you can see here it worked out great.

Myrna chose the Tickle pantograph and a light turquoise for the quilting.

Scrappy Irish Chain

Mary Margaret made this wonderful Scrappy Irish Chain quilt for her daughter.  Sometimes it is hard to get a sense of the size of a quilt from just pictures.  This one measures 110" x 110" and is one of the largest ones that has come my way for custom quilting.

Mary Maragret really wanted custom quilting to fill the large white spaces (they were about 20" across).   After sending some doodles her way, she selected the feather and curl wreath design with continuous curves in the scrappy squares.

I added a complimentary design in the white inner border, and stitched in the ditch between the multi sized piano key border.
