Pretty Posies

Mary brought this pretty purple, yellow and floral quilt that she intends to donate to a cause close to her heart.

Mary selected the Pretty Posies pantograph to continue the theme, and it looks absolutely fabulous on the cozy flannel backing.

Roundabout Placemats

Reneta made this lovely set of placemats for her daughter from the Highway 10 Designs Roundabout Pattern.  All of the fabrics that Reneta used are from the Dawn on the Prairie collection by Fancy That Design House for Moda.

I have often done custom quilting on this style of placemat, but this time Reneta requested an edge to edge design.  She sent one large piece of backing so that I could line up all of the placemats and stitch the Wildflower pantograph across them all. A pretty and economical approach!

Flannel Scrappy Trip

Reneta made this cozy quilt from a large variety of flannel scraps.  The pattern is a free Bonnie Hunter tutorial called Scrappy Trip.

We selected an oldie but a goodie for the pantograph - Fascination.  I love the nice even texture and the density seems just right.

Sylvia’s Block on the Month

This quilt was made by Sylvia.  Her sewing group was following a Block of the Month pattern. and she made changes along the way that better suited her taste.

Sylvia asked for a simple meander that wasn't too small in scale.  I hadn't quilted an all over meander in ages so this was fun for me.

Modern Log Cabin

Joni made this modern take on a Log Cabin quilt as a wedding gift.  The quilt was adapted from a pattern in the Modern Quilt Bible book by Elizabeth Betts.

Joni requested a music themed pantograph as it would suit the bride and groom, so Musica was the perfect choice.

She added a woodsy backing fabric for the outdoorsy couple.

Stack and Flip

Donna made this pretty quilt using a Kaffe Fassett Design roll in the Lake colourway.  The pattern is called Stack and Flip from Missouri Star Quilt Co.

Donna selected a new pantograph to my collection called Cinnamon Swirl.  This was the first time I stitched it out and I love the texture that it provided.

The almost periwinkle colored Fireside backing was the perfect match to the top and showed off the quilting beautifully.

Curved Log Cabin

Julie brought this pretty Curved Log Cabin quilt that she made for her granddaughter.  So pretty in pink!

Julie chose the the Pieces of My Heart pantograph which adds a lovely feminine touch to the whole thing.  It shows up so nicely on the plainer backing fabric.

Dignity Quilt

This stunning quilt was brought to me by Susan. This quilt will be used as a Dignity quilt at a local care home that her church supports. What is a Dignity quilt?  The purpose of a Dignity quilt is to be used at the care home when someone dies, and there is a public exit from the building in front of other residents and staff.  Instead of seeing a body bag, the stretcher is covered with the quilt.  For the design of this quilt, Susan was inspired by a quilt that was made by the Crocus Quilters in Dauphin, MB that I used to belong to.  You can read all about that quilt and the inspiration behind it here.

Susan opted for the Bora Bora pantograph, which reminds me of wind blowing across the landscape - a perfect choice!

This quilt was made entirely out of batiks, and all the different patterns and textures just add depth to the quilt.  I think the final product is absolutely gorgeous.

Fab-tastic

Susan brought this quilt with a bold and bright color palette.  The pattern is called Fab-tastic by Marlous Designs.

Susan chose the Popcorn pantograph and I used a bright lime green Magnifico thread on top and a coordinating Bottom Line in the bobbin.  Go bold!

I really enjoy the variety of quilts that come through my studio.  I may never make a bold lime green quilt myself, but I did get to enjoy this one when it visited!
