Reneta's Lug Nuts #2

This Lug Nuts quilt was made by Reneta. Lug Nuts is still one of my favorite patterns that Kathy and I created for Highway 10 Designs.

I was lucky enough to watch this quilt unfold from the fabric shopping, to its first piecing at a retreat, to a coffee visit to see the layout and finally I got a turn to play by quilting it!

I'm sharing a lot of pictures of this beauty, because I love it so much and couldn't narrow it down anymore!

Reneta and I decided on the "Come Dance with Me" panto.  This choice came as a surprise to both of us, but it enhanced Reneta's fabric choices without compteting with it.  I love how it looks and the pieced backing with the this great taupey grey Grunge backing fabric.

If you are thinking that you might like to make a this quilt but are a little fearful of the shaped edge, do not fear!  The Lug Nuts pattern has clear binding instructions, and this is Reneta's second time making this pattern. (See her first version here).  If it was a bad, she surely wouldn't have tackled it again!

All of the Highway 10 Designs patterns are available in our Etsy store, or ask your local quilt store about bringing it in for you.

  1. Stunningly wonderful, and your photo shoot shows so much more , for me the last photo is the one I like the most, doors behind, lovely paving stones, and the light shining at the side. Beautiful. Wonderful choice of fabrics.
