Sherry's Fancy Foxes

Sherry sent this fantastic little quilt that she made with the fox blocks from Elizabeth Hartman's Fancy Fox pattern.   As with most of the of the fox quilts that have come into my studio the request was for my freehand woodgrain quilting.

I love how inventive Sherry was with the layout.  Sherry has also wowed me with her ability to mix and match unexpected fabrics effortlessly.  It is a bit hard to see in the photos, but the grey background fabric is a botanical print..  There are larger leaves at the top and smaller denser leaves at the bottom. Inserting the band of foxes in just the right location was inspired!

Sherry chose one of my wide backings from Northoctt, a grey leafy print that tied in very nicely.

Sometimes I wish these lovely quilts come stay and live with me!

  1. Foxes in the Forest, literally and figuratively, the fabric, the woodgrain lines, and the row with one studious fellow in glasses, wonderful finish.
