Hummingbird Bouquet

Annette made this great modern Hummingbird quilt.  The pattern is by Corinne Sovey Designs and was originally published in the American Patchwork and Quilting magazine under the name Birds and Blooms. It is now available as a stand alone pattern under the name Hummingbird Bouquet.  Did you know that one of the names for a group of hummingbirds is called a Bouquet?  Cool right?

I used very blendy thread in each of the sections.  Wavy lines in the background, simple lines in the throat and breast and flowers, and some feathers for interest in the in the head, wing and bodies.  Annette did not want heavy quitting so I did my best to keep a light hand.

Liane & Shannon

This post is all in the family.  Lianne and her daughter Shannon brought some lovely quilts this summer.  Lianne made the first two quilts for her brother and sister-in-law.   Lianne used the Easy Street pattern from the Fabric Cafe for this woodsy one.

Liane chose the Terrace pantograph and added a lovely backing with fall leaves.

This pretty quilt was again a pattern from the Fabric Cafe called Rail Fence.

Liane chose the London Fog pantograph which added some nice movement.

Shannon made this fun beachy/camping quilt.  The Bora Bora pantograph added a perfect sea breeze to finish it off.

Bjorn Bear

Karen made this darling quilt for a special baby girl on the way.  The pattern is Bjorn Bear from Elizabeth Hartman with a few of Karen's special touches added.

Karen added one pair of glasses that is included in the pattern, and a second pair of her own design.  She also added the beehive block and the little buzzing around.

Karen chose the Lilac pantograph which shows up really well on the cream plush backing.
