Two More Beauties for Sherry

The first of Sherry's two quilts that I'm sharing today is a pattern called Arboretum by Saginaw Street Quilts.  Sherry started this quilt in a workshop a number of years ago, and decided to change up the size and layout to suit her needs.

Sherry chose the Zephyr pantograph and I love the feel of the wind blowing across the leaves.

Sherry is always drawn to fabric that includes text, and I love how the border and the backing tied together.

The second quilt started out to be one thing but ended up being another.  Three Churn Dash blocks, a little applique and a fitting pantograph make for a simple but elegant quilt.

I love the "Pieces of My Heart" pantograph.  I have had the chance to stitch it out on all different kinds of quilts and I always like the result.

Cindy's Not Your Mother's Rail Fence 3.0

Cindy sent me this crisp Not Your Mother's Rail Fence quilt.  I never get tired of quilting a pattern that is part of the Highway 10 Designs collection.  I know that Cindy enjoys making this pattern as I have quilt two for her in the past.  Check them out here and here.

Cindy thought she was probably going to donate this quilt so she left the panto and thread choice up to me.   I decided to "go for it" with the thread color and picked a bright blue-green that popped on the solids.  The panto is called "Dazzle" and is a nice gender/age neutral design  that will be suitable for whoever the final recipient may be.

Not Your Mother's Rail Fence is a great pattern if you want to use up some of your stash, need a quick gift  or if have someone in your life who would like to learn how to quilt.  PDF and paper patterns available at www.highway10designs.com

Neutral Strings

I can honestly say that making a quilt entirely out of neutral fabrics would never have crossed my mind, but I love this so much and now want to make one of my own!

This Scrappy Neutral String beauty was made by Sherry.  Sherry has a confidence in combining fabrics that many of us would second guess over and over.  This peaceful soothing quilt was made to reduce her fabric stash.

Sherry selected the Knit 1 Purl 2 pantopgraph and asked me to select one of my wide backings for her.  She used one of a piece from Northcott's Canvas line for the sashing and I had a wide back coordinate from the line that matched perfectly.

Do you need a neutral quilt in your life?

Animal Hugs Quarter Section

Reneta made this absolutely adorable baby quilt using the Quarter Sections pattern by Highway 10 Designs. Did you know that all you need is 5 fat quarters and 3/4 yard of border fabric to make this top that measures a generous 39" x 45"?!?

Reneta chose the Gingersnap pantograph to complete the look.

The fabric line that Reneta used is Animal Hugs by 3Wishes Fabrics.  The prints are so cute!

The next time you are in need of a fast and fun baby quilt think of Quarter Sections.

A Pair of Tea Cup Quilts

Susan brought me two lovely quilts made from Missouri Star's Tea Cup quilt pattern.  This first one is in a lovely collection of fabric called "A Day at the Lake" by Wilmington Prints.  Susan left the pantograph selection up to me and I thought "Bora Bora" looked like the breeze blowing in off the lake.  This one is destined to live on a bed in her cottage and it couldn't be more perfect.

The second quilt was made in a beautiful line called "Petal Pusher" by Camelot fabrics.  I selected the Wildflower pnatograph and a lovely mustard colored thread to finish this one off.
