When Becky dropped this quilt off she was less than excited about it. It really isn't her typical style, and she was ready to be done with it. All of the fabrics included in the top all bee themed. They aren't from a sinlge collection, Becky collected them over time.
Becky selected the Lilac pantograph and we worked together to chose a suitable thread. When in doubt, try a kinda ugly green - it might surprise you. I pulled out a selection of murky greens and we decided on So Fine #516 Gondola Gold. It looks a bit gold on the black background with out being too stong, and blends in quite nicly over the variety of prints.
The quilting really pops on the pretty yellow background. I used a matching yellow Bottom Line thread there. When Becky came to pick up the quilt I was hoping that she would like the quilt more than when she left it with me, and she defintely did. A little time away and some pretty quilting does work magic sometimes.
