Three Sampler Quilts

Tannis sent three lovely Sampler/Block of the Month quilts that purchased somewhere in the 2007-2010 era.  This first one is my favorite as I will always have a soft spot in my heart for batik fabrics.  I like the interesting color placement in the centre of the quilt.

Tannis selected the Expression pantograph.  It a nice design when you desire light handed quilting.

Next up is this lovely blue and yellow floral.  There is something about blue and yellow that is just so fresh and pretty.

  

The raindrops pantograph was the choice for this one.  

  

Last but not least is the bright and fun lime green sampler that was made with "thangle" papers.

Tannis chose the Flower Child pantograph and I used lime green thread on both the top of this one to keep up with its bold fun feeling.

 

Gail's Lug Nuts

This awesome version of Lug Nuts was made by Gail.  Gail was a student in a workshop I taught in January.   I loved the rich neutral fabrics that she had selected, and was very curious as to how her choice of one brick red fabric would look in the final product.   (Lug Nuts uses nine different fabrics and we normally suggest 3 lights, 3 mediums and 3 darks.)  I think end result is awesome!

  

Gail prefers a light touch with the quilting and chose one of my newer pantographs called "Expression".  Gail chose to do the optional pieced back to use up some of the leftover hexagon sections.

I just love how the landscape brick fabric look in the quilt!

Lug Nuts is a great stash buster if you have 1 m cuts lying around.  It is also a pattern that is much easier to construct than the final product would suggest.  No y-seams!   Pattern is available in the Highway 10 Designs Etsy Store, or ask your local quilt store about it.

Rainbow Baby

This super sweet baby quilt was made by Eileen.  It was originally published in a 2013 issue of Quilty Magazine under the name "Rainbow Baby".  The magazine is out of print, but the designer has the pattern available as a digital download under the name "Wiggle Time".  You can fine it here.

Eileen requested Dream Puff batting and we test drove a new panto called "Expression".  I love the result!

 Eileen was able to pull all the rainbow bits from her stash.  I'm sure this cuddly quilt will be loved.
