Bridy brought this lovely quilt and I was very intrigued to know what the pattern was as I didn’t think I had seen anything quite like it before. It is called Florally by Heck Yes Sew Co. Bridy chose a palette of Fabelism Sprout Wovens and shared that this was the first time she sewed curves!
I asked Bridy if she would be open to some simple custom quilting on this one and she was happy with that idea. We flipped through some quilting books to look at examples of different background fills as she pointed out a few that she liked.
I stitched around all the curved pieces. Not actually in the ditch, but about an 1/8" away always staying on the background fabric. The centre was a little too large to leave unquilted in my opinion, so I added a simple motif.
I like the mix of curls and curls with petals in the background. I was quite fun for me to quilt out.
