Blogathon Canada - Manitoba Edition

Welcome to Friendly Manitoba!  I am so excited to be one of today's hosts for Blogathon Canada.  Heather over at Peace.Love.Quilt is the other host for today and she will be introducing you to some great bloggers from Saskatchewan so be sure to visit her as well.

My name is Lori and I currently call Dauphin, Manitoba - the City of Sunshine home.  I grew up in Winnipeg and since getting married I  have spent time out west in Strathmore, Alberta (just east of Calgary) and then way up north in High Level, Alberta,  then pretty far north Flin Flon, Manitoba before we landed here in Dauphin.

I wear a few different hats - mom to two lovely girls, wife to a dedicated Mountie, part time office administrator at our local funeral home, long arm quilter, pattern designer and I love it all!

Here at the Night Owl Quilting Blog you will most often see all the lovely quilts I work on for my clients like these. I do love this job!  (If you want to see more of any of these quilts just click on the picture and it will take you back to the original post.)

Sometimes you will see projects of my own like these:

This is also one place where you will see the patterns of Highway 10 Designs that my wonderful friend Kathy of Tamarack Shack  and I design together. All of these patterns are currently available at www.sewsisters.com or through our Etsy store.

Enough about me! Here are the other blogs from Manitoba that I hope you will take the time to visit:

Now it is time for the giveaways!  Be sure to head on over to the Sew-Sisters blog to enter today's giveaway sponsored by:

It isn't too late to enter the giveaways from earlier in the week!

Through the generosity of Sew-Sisters, I feel extremely lucky to be able to give away this fabulous Fat Quarter Bundle of my favorite - BATIKS!  Enter to win by leaving a comment on this post telling me how many different places you have lived.  International entries are welcome!  If you are a no-reply blogger (or are unsure if you are) please leave your email in your comment so that I can contact you.  Winner will be announced on November 24.

Enjoy the rest of Blogathon Canada and please come back and visit again!

  41. Such incredible quilting , I like that delightful Christmas tree - will you decorate it at all?
Ive always lived in England but have travelled far and wide luckily, and spent several weeks living in Hong Kong and 6 living in Fiji - all at the Queens expense, ( Bless her ) back when in the RAF.
Although born in Birmingham in the Midlands, Ive lived in East Yorkshire for the past 20 years or so.

  93. Yahoo, a great day. Great post, Lori. I love the bundle you picked for your giveaway. I am giddy over the blogs you suggested. A few I follow already and I believe the guild's blog may get a few comments this month. Thanks for including it. As for how many places I have lived, it is 6, all in Manitoba. My childhood was spent in southern Manitoba followed by three homes in more northerly Manitoba. One of which was Duck Bay. Not very northern as far as I am concerned but to other Manitobans I might as well have been living in the Arctic. Strange how north describes a variety different areas in each province. Enjoy your day. Thanks for participating in the Sew Sisters Blog Hop and for offering a fabulous giveaway.

  129. I haven't moved all that much, maybe that's why I love to travel everywhere. Born in Northern Utah, went to college in Southern Utah, married, lived in Georgia for 3 years and have been back in Southern Utah in the same house for nearly 40 years. While we may have been in the same house my husband says he's lived a a constantly new home as we've remodeled several times and pretty much redone the original floor plan. So fun. Love your quilting and your designs. Beautiful. Thanks.
