Mary's Home Quarter

Mary made this lovely serene quilt using the Highway 10 Designs Home Quarter pattern that is fat quarter friendly.  It is available in both a PDF instant download or a paper copy  from www.highway10designs.com .

The  fabric collection Mary used is Northcott's Shimmer Dragonfly Moon in the Tranquility colourway..

Mary chose the Tickle pantograph and a shiny Magnifico thread in color 2165 Stainless Steel to compliment all the metallic elements in the fabric collection.

Botanist Home Quarter

Shalane made this beautiful warm quilt using the Botanist collection by Katarina Roccella for Art Gallery Fabrics.  The border fabric is from the Seasons of Tribute, Roots of Nature collection.
The pattern is a favorite from Highway 10 Designs - Home Quarter.

Shalane chose the Windswept pantograph for a lovely finish that doesn't' compete with any of the beautiful prints.

My Canada Home Quarter

Caron made this fantastic quilt using the My Canada collection from Northcott.  The pattern is Home Quarter from Highway 10 Designs and is a relaxing make using Fat Quarters.

Caron selected the Maple Syrup pantograph to continue the theme.  You can't see much of it on the front with the wide variety of prints, but it sure looks great on the grey Fireside backing.

Shalane's Home Quarter

I had the pleasure of quilting this pretty quilt for Shalane.  The pattern is Home Quarter by Highway 10 Designs.  It is a low stress pattern that uses fat quarter cuts of fabric.

Shalane used the Open Road collection from Bonnie Christine for Art Gallery Fabrics.

Shalane selected the pretty "Knit 1 Purl 2" pantograph and looks pretty with a sage green thread and Quilter's Dream Blend batting.

If you have a Fat Quarter bundle waiting for a project you can purchase a PDF or Paper copy of the Home Quarter pattern of the Highway 10 Designs website.

Shylyte's Home Quarter

Shylyte has been collecting bright polka dot fabrics for a little white now.  When she learned the first of  her friends was going to be a grandma she knew it was the perfect chance to use them in a project.  Shylyte used 12 Fat Quarters to make the version of the Highway 10 Designs Home Quarter pattern.

Shylyte selected a new pantograph in my collection called Cool Beans.  I love how it looks against all of the polka dots.  And who doesn't love a Fireside backing to show off the quilting and cuddle with?

Smoke and Rust Home Quarter

Phyl made the beautiful verstion of the Home Quarter pattern by Highway 10 Designs.  The fabric collection she used is from Lella Boutique for Moda called Smoke and Rust.

Phyl selected the Arrowful pantograph and a lovely shiny copper colored thread for the quilting.  I love the movement that the pantograph has.

This quilt could live quite happily with my oak bedroom furniture!

Cindy's "Brave Enough to Dream" Home Quarter

Cindy made this version of the Highway 10 Designs Home Quarter quilt pattern for her grandson's "big boy bed."  The fabric is from a beautiful line called "Brave Enough to Dream" by Dear Stella fabrics.  The pattern has some large pieces that really allow you to appreciate the fabulous prints.

Cindy selected the Ebb & Flow pantograph, and Quilter's Dream Puff batting that combines so nicely with her gorgeous navy fireside backing.

Val's Stash Busting Home Quarter

Val made this cheerful queen sized version of our Highway 10 Designs Home Quarter pattern entirely from her stash.  As Home Quarter calls for Fat Quarters, Val cut some fat quarters from larger yardage, and used existing fat quarters and other scraps to build this beautiful quilt.

Val requested the Bora Bora pantograph and I think it looks great. A goldish brown thread was my choice to subtly live on the wide variety of colors and the border.

If you have some fat quarters and yardage in your stash just waiting for the perfect project, you could follow Val's lead and try out the Home Quarter pattern too.

Sherry's Embelished Home Quarter

Sherry used the Highway 10 Designs Home Quarter pattern for the basis of this quilt and took it up a notch by adding an applique panel.  My last two posts also contained Home Quarter quilts, and it still amazes me how much fabric choices change the look of a pattern.

Sherry sent a note along with the quilt suggesting an all over stipple for the quilting design and an outline around the applique.  I know Sherry quite well and I know that she prefers threads that blend, so I suggested treating the border and panel differently than the body of the quilt so I could use two different threads.

Sherry liked my suggestion of a bead board design in the borders and behind the applique with a medium stipple in the quilt body.  I love how it turned out.  It was fun to stipple a large part of the quilt as I don't get to do that often.

I love when quilters take a pattern and add their own twist to it.  Home Quarter is a fat quarter friendly pattern and is available as a pdf download or in paper format.
