Galaxy

This stunner was was made by Karen as an anniversary gift for her daughter and son-in-law.  The pattern is called Galaxy from Studio 180 Designs.

Karen used a gorgeous batik palette and the print on the border fabric help to influence her choice of the Lilac pantograph.

Karen always adds little extra touches to her quilts.  This little detail on the border corners is one example.

The other really cool feature is that Karen made this quilt to be reversible.  She added a row of blocks to that back that look like a bed runner.  So smart!

Foxes and Bunnies in Bed 2

These darling quilts were made by Reneta for her niece.  This is the second set of quilts that Reneta has made from the Sew Fresh Quilts - Bears, Foxes and Bunnies in Bed pattern. You can see her first set here,

Some light custom quilting was my choice.  A little stich in the ditch and echo quilting to make the bunnies pop with a ribbon meander in the background.  I added some wavy lines in between the rows of the print on the yellow fabric to finish is off.

The foxes got a very similar treatment with a few added lines to define the face and not leave too large an open space.  I added a simple meander behind the foxes and stitched along a select number of horizontal lines on the plaid fabric to hold it all together.

Petal Junction - Date Night

Reneta made the lovely quilt for her daughter to give to some special friends who are getting married.  The pattern is Petal Junction from Highway 10 Designs.

The quilt was made entirely from the Date Night collection from Basic Grey for Moda.  Reneta used the lights creams and greys for scrappy background and the darker prints in the remainder of the quilt.  The classic neutral palette is perfect for a modern young couple.

Reneta selcted the Gingersnap pantograph pantograph for a clean finish.

Chandelier

Shannon made this black and white Chandelier quilt as a gift for some special friends.  You can find the free pattern here at Lella Boutique.

Shannon chose the the Fliratious pantograph.  To me it looks like streamers against her background fabric that had little gold "confetti" flecks.

Shannon was on a time crunch to give this to her friends before they moved away so she opted to have Marion bind the quilt for her.  If you ever need a quilt bound I can hook you up with the service provider!

2 for Roberta

Roberta brought two bold and beautiful quilts for quilting.  First up is Color Jolt by Sparkle Stash.

Roberta selected the Fluffy Clouds pantograph and I love the vibrant green Fireside that she chose for the back.

The second quilt is called Gemini by Villa Rosa Designs.  This one is beuatiful with Batiks on the front and the back.  I suggested that Roberta consider black batting for this one with the dark backing and black background.  She agreed and we used the Quilter's Dream Midnight poly that I always have on hand.

Roberta chose the Sweet Pea pantograph and we used an almost black thread.

Botanist Home Quarter

Shalane made this beautiful warm quilt using the Botanist collection by Katarina Roccella for Art Gallery Fabrics.  The border fabric is from the Seasons of Tribute, Roots of Nature collection.
The pattern is a favorite from Highway 10 Designs - Home Quarter.

Shalane chose the Windswept pantograph for a lovely finish that doesn't' compete with any of the beautiful prints.

Topographic Quilting

Marion made this modern quilt as a gift for her brother who is active and enjoys many different outdoor activities.  She found the perfect fabric collection and put together this top that highlighted the prints.

Marion knew exactly what quilting motif she wanted for this one - my freehand topographic lines that matched the background of the dark grey print perfectly.  It gives great texture to the front and the back of the quilt.

Garden Party

All I can say is Wow with this one.  Syndey made this amazing Garden Party quilt from none other than Bonnie Hunter.  There is an amazing amount of piecing that goes into this one, but no triangles.

The red border and accents really make this a standout.  There are so many unique fabrics to look at!

Sydney chose the Glamorous pantograph and I love how the all over feather design just floats across the quilt top.  We used a pretty pink thread - So Fine #462 Aster.

The floral backing fabric that Sydney provided had just the right mix of colours to compliment the top.

I can't say that I could see myself tackling something like this anytime soon, but I sure enjoyed having it come for a visit!  Are you up for a scrappy challenge like this?
