I have been pretty quiet here on the blog, but I have been doing a little bit of quilting. The cute baby quilt was made by Bev for her grandson Joel.
The pattern Bev used for this pattern is called
Star Fling, and it is a great fat quarter pattern.
She provided a lovely minkee dot for the backing. I used Quilter's Dream Puff batting, which is my favorite with a minkee backing.
Bev always asks me to personalize the quilts for her grandchildren, so I channeled my junior high self and added Joel's name in bubble letters inside one of the stars.
Bev and Joel's big sister Taylor chose the Baby Bauhaus panto pattern as they thought it looked like square wheels. It was the perfect scale for the piecing too.
We have been trying to enjoy some of the joys of summer - time spent with friends and family and each other. Here are some of the highlights so far.
My handsome hubby all ready for the parade.
Some daddy and daughter bonding time on a construction project for her room.
My catch of the year - so far!
Happy times on Lake Athapap!
Spending some great time with friends at their cabin.
