Quarter Sections in Tula Pink!

Amy made this funky version of our Quarter Sections pattern using Tula Pink's "Tabby Road" line of fabric.  I can honestly say it never would have occurred to me to piece this top, but that is what makes quilting for others so much fun!

Amy loves her Tula Fabric so of course there is more of it on the back!

Amy left the quilting decisions up to me, and because there was a plain solid border I wanted to have a little fun.  My version of 3's & e's (swirls) in the center and some casual feathers in the border.

I used a pastel variegated thread throughout the quilt, but it really didn't come through in the photos.

If you have a stack of fat quarters and aren't sure what to do with them, our Quarter Sections pattern offers 6 sizes and comes together quickly.  The 8" squares let enjoy enjoy the fabric prints that you fell in love you without chopping them up too small.

Sunrise

Dawn made this super cheerful quilt and it certainly brightened my day when I was working on it.  The pattern is called Sunrise and it was a kit from V and Co. fabrics.

Dawn decided on the Fluffy Clouds panto (in like 10 seconds flat!) and requested Dream Puff batting and it made for a very nice result.

In all the photos I took I put the yellow to the top of the quilt - I guess that is how my eye saw it.  Interestingly, the pattern show this quilt with the yellow at the bottom.  To each his own I guess!

Legendary

I recently quilted this awesome version of Elizabeth Hartman's "Legendary" pattern that was made by Reneta.   Reneta selected flannel fabrics for both the front and the back, so this is an extra cozy quilt.

I see Big Foot in the forest in the winter when I looked at this quilt top so we opted for the "Snow Winds" panto just for fun.

This was a birthday gift for Reneta's sister, and her intention was for her to use it in her log cabin - can you imagine anything more perfect?  I'm sure she loved it!

Yvonne's Good Vibrations

I recently had the pleasure of quilting this beautiful version our Highway 10 Designs pattern - "Good Vibrations".  Yvonne used the "Great Lakes" colorway of the Cantik Batiks  Gemfive strips for the quilt.  She found the borders in her stash and the end product is just stunning.

Yvonne selected the "Breath of the gods" panto and a blue Stonehenge wide backing that I had available.

Good Vibrations is available as a pdf download or in traditional paper format in our Etsy store.  Or ask your local quilt store about it as our patterns are available in in Canada through Quilt Source Canada and in the USA and internationally through Checker Distributors.

Rainbow Baby

This super sweet baby quilt was made by Eileen.  It was originally published in a 2013 issue of Quilty Magazine under the name "Rainbow Baby".  The magazine is out of print, but the designer has the pattern available as a digital download under the name "Wiggle Time".  You can fine it here.

Eileen requested Dream Puff batting and we test drove a new panto called "Expression".  I love the result!

Eileen was able to pull all the rainbow bits from her stash.  I'm sure this cuddly quilt will be loved.

Hawaiian Summer in the Park

This happy version of "Summer in the Park" was made by Cindy.    (You can find the video tutorial here). She collected the fabrics on a trip to Hawaii and this quilt will stay with her and be a special memory of that trip.

Cindy chose the Bora Bora panto and it reminds me of wind and waves so perfect for this quilt.

I really wanted to use yellow thread on the front and blue thread on the back and as you can see here, it is possible to get balanced tension!  (Love my Innova!)

Such a fun and cheerful quilt!

I have been having a lot of quilty fun away from home over the past couple of weeks.  This group retreated at Fabriculous and had a lot of fun, including painting mini barn quilts.

And the following weekend this fun group gathered in Roblin, MB and traveled to the Saskatoon Quilt Show in a rented decommissioned Handivan!

We needed a driver with the proper level license, and my wonderful husband agreed to take on the challenge!  Husband of the year??

Stereo

It is about time I posted these photos, as the ground around here is no longer green, but covered in a thin layer of the white stuff!  Cindy made the Stereo quilt for her granddaughter in anticipation of her move to a "big girl bed."

It is a bit difficult to see with the busy fabrics, but it is quilted with the quirky panto in a light grey thread.

Although you can see the quilting better on the back as I matched the top and back thread so there is a contrast here.

I also made these "one hour baskets" using the tutorial from Kelby Sews for my daughter to use in her dorm bedroom and bathroom.
