Kathy and I are excited to announce the new Butter Tarts pattern from our shared venture Highway 10 Designs. It has been more than 2 years since we last had an idea we were excited enough to work up into a pattern. We are so excited that we are having a sale - more on that later.
The Butter Tarts pattern is Fat Quarter friendly and includes 6 sizes ranging from Baby to Queen. One of the best parts of the pattern is that there are no HSTs or Flying Geese to make, so no trimming!
My Canadian friends will understand the great Butter Tart debate - raisins or no raisins? (I sit somewhere in the middle of this, and prefer a few dainty currants in mine.) And as Kathy and I were working on pattern the border or no border question came up. We could see the benefit to both so we included both options in the pattern.
On the left you can see Kathy's version that uses 30 Fat Quarters, mine on the right uses 20 Fat Quarters but has the border added - these quilts turn out to be almost exactly the same size!
For those who know my quilting style, you will be surprised to learn that made this quilt entirely out of solids -Art Gallery Pure Solids to be exact. I had purchased the Swatch Set from Sew Curated and had a lot of fun pulling this pretty color palette with the help of my daughter Kendra. It really came together like I pictured it in my mind's eye.
I quilted it with the Breath of the gods pantograph and added a Cuddletex backing to make it extra cozy.
The next few pictures are of our cover quilt that Kathy made out of some Fabelism Wovens in an Autumn-y/Butter tarty color palette. You can find more details on her blog here.
In celebration of our Butter Tarts pattern release we have put the whole store on sale!
Enjoy 20% off any of our patterns from now until end of day Saturday November 2nd.
